Los Bandits de MIchigan Los Bandits de Michigan is: René Meave, guitar/vocals, Guillermo (Memo) Martinez, accordions/vocals Esteban (Steve) Ortiz, drums/vocals and Ernesto (Ernie) Ortiz, bass guitar/vocals. Los Bandits music reflects the richness of Tex-Mex music by combining Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Country, Rock, Norteño, and Tejano Music. Los Bandits have an alternative world-beat sound that appeals to a very diverse audience. Los Bandits have been performing since 1991, but each individual member has over thirty years musical experience. Los Bandits de Michigan are currently working on their 4th CD, due for released in the spring of 2010. Other recordings include: “Tex-Mex del Midwest”, “Live En El State Theatre, Los Bandits” and “La Onda del Midwest.” In 1999, the Governor and the Hispanic Caucus the State of Michigan honored René and Guillermo with a special tribute for their outstanding contribution of Tex-Mex music in Michigan. In 2005 a documentary on the band entitled, “MORE THAN A TEX-MEX BAND”, was released.
