Tulipanes Latino Art & Film Festival

 

This is the story of a little girl and a nut. It is also the story of a middle-aged woman who has lost all contact with dreams. La Tuerca is about magic, memories and the significance of small things that we sometimes forget when we become adults.

 

 

 

I wrote the story of La Tuerca in a very special moment of my life where I felt an enormous remembrance of the past, a very deep need to feel close to all the people which I loved and were no longer with me. I wanted to keep all those moments which only remained in my memories.

 

This took me to remember when I was a little girl, where a small nut which belonged to my older brother, was a very powerful and magic object in our childhood games. Years later, when my brother died unexpectedly, this tiny object became more important for me than ever.

 

La Tuerca is about memories, magic and the significance of small things that we sometimes forget when we grow up.
